Our approach
Attorneys who draft and litigate.
Several of our attorneys write the contracts and, when necessary, argue them in court. That means the agreements we draft are built to hold up if a dispute ever reaches a judge, and when litigation is necessary, we already understand the deal behind it.
Where we practice
Based in Burlingame. Practicing throughout California.
Real estate law is often local: filing procedures, local ordinances, and courtroom customs shift from one county to the next. Here’s where we have particular depth, though we take on matters throughout the state:
- San Francisco
- The strictest local rules in the region: rent control and just-cause eviction requirements make procedure especially important here.
- San Mateo
- Rules can vary meaningfully from one city to the next.
- Alameda
- Oakland and Berkeley carry some of the most detailed landlord-tenant rules in the Bay Area.
- Contra Costa
- A mix of state-law cities and newer local tenant protections.
- Solano
- Largely governed by state law, with AB 1482 as the controlling framework.
- Santa Clara
- San Jose’s local ordinances make familiarity with the local rules especially important.
